Hello And Thanks For Your Interest
In Us!
My name is Lori Wheeler and I've been a Breeder of AKC Maltese and
Golden Retrievers for over 10 years. I live in Croswell, Michigan which is located in the mid-thumb area.
In 2003 we added a new breed of "Babies" to our family. Goldendoodles!
They are a hybrid cross between a female Golden Retriever and a male
Standard Poodle.
They are easily trainable, very intelligent dogs. When you cross
two wonderful breeds such as these together, it makes for a terrific dog with a wonderful temperament. Also, there is
something that occurs which is called "Hybrid Vigour." The health issues that are prominent in certain breeds can sometimes
be eradicated by crossing them with another pure breed. Many people in the AKC world consider any Hybrid to be
a "Mutt"..
We just think they're wonderful!
In most cases, Goldendoodles are a low shedding breed. There
are even some that don't shed at all. They are also great for people with allergy issues.
Two of the owners of the pups from our first litter have severe
dog allergies and have had no problems at all. There are many smaller breeds of dog that are considered "Hypo Allergenic"
but not too many of the larger breeds are. Goldendoodles can be a great solution when you desire a larger, more sturdy
breed but worry about whether the allergies may be a problem.
Our dogs aren't just for breeding, they are our family pets.
We live on a large piece of property with plenty of room to run and in 2003 we had a special dog barn built, complete with
a heated whelping box and a fenced in run area attached so that they can get fresh air and exercise whenever they so desire.
Every parent dog and puppy is loved, well treated and completely socialized.
I offer health guarantees on every puppy I sell. Every puppy is health checked by a Veterinarian, has their
dew-claws removed and is up to date on all thier shots before they
go to thier new homes.
Since the AKC doesn't recognize Hybrids, I have registered both parents
with the Continental Kennel Club. If both parents are registered with them, they will register the puppies. I
will provide every new owner with the paperwork necessary to do so.
I strive to assure every puppy I sell has a loving and
suitable home. I hope to keep in touch with the owners of all our pups and I do have letters from quite a few very satisfied owners available for you to see.
I breed on a very small scale and usually will only allow my females
to breed once a year and I don't allow them to breed too many years into their lifetime. Simply stated, I DO NOT believe
in over breeding my dogs.
